If only there were some way to screen people before they adopt a dog to ensure that no pooch gets left on the streets, mistreated, or used as a puppy mill before getting tossed away. The golden retriever in this next story sadly experienced all of those facets of human horribleness before she caught a glimpse of the best that hoomanity has to offer–the pair of sisters that would ultimately save her life, become her mama and auntie, and who would fight for her furrevermore.

Greeter, a golden retriever mix, earned her name when she ran up to a couple of girls on the side of the road. She was underweight, thirsty, and looked absolutely exhausted, and without an owner in sight, the two girls took her to the vet. And that's where the pros told the sisters that Greeter had just given birth to puppies before getting ejected from her previous family.

In a video filmed a few weeks later, Leni, one of the sisters who saved Greeter, explains that they went back to look for the puppies the next day, but they were nowhere to be found. Assuming that Greeter's previous owners dumped her after she gave birth, Leni and her sister understandably focused their energy on the golden mama who needed them to survive.
